This tutorial uses PS to color the ancient portraits of the
studio. In fact, the original film is already perfect, but in order to pursue
more perfect, we have to carry out some coloring in the later stage.
The
ancient characters are more obvious after the whole person's touches, many
details. It also appears on the surface. Specifically, we still need to
practice and make learning.
When we see the nice color, many students will want
to preset. In fact, the preset can't solve the problem. The preset is only
useful for the photos at the time.
The photos have different parameters, and
they won't be the same as the original ones, so you should practice more, and
learn through the tutorial.

Many small partners asked how the light and shadow of the
previous period was done. I drew a picture and gave you a brief explanation
(the soul painting hand is more abstract, forgive me haha)
In front of the figure is a screen, some cherry blossom
branches are hung on the screen, and the lights appear on the characters
through the screen to appear mottled.
(At that time, the film light in the shed was used. The light
was strong, the color temperature was high and it could not be adjusted. When
shooting, you can wear a hood on the lamp to make the light softer. I am simple
and rough, and directly covered two papers. Hahahaha on the lamp, the
conditional light partner can choose some better lamps)
Let's go into the post-production process.
First, Camera raw color
Since the retouching now only uses ps, there is no LR preset,
but the camera raw and Ir usage are similar.
First of all, the original film is yellowish, so the color
temperature is adjusted to blue, so that the overall color of the picture is
not so eye-catching.
Because the lighting is strong, I generally reduce the
highlights, reduce the contrast, make the picture softer, the shadows feel a
bit heavy, slightly increase the shadow, and make the picture more coordinated,
and other parts are to make some small adjustments according to their own
preferences.
HSL adjustment
The overall color is mainly orange and white, so the HSL part
has not changed too much, the hue does not move, lower the orange, yellow
saturation, improve the brightness and make the character's skin more white.
Highlights and shadows add a little blue cyan to make the
picture more quaint, but the saturation is not too high.
The mist is removed appropriately, the picture will look a bit
sultry, and the mist can be adjusted to adjust the overall atmosphere. You can
try to move the column according to the pictures you take. Maybe there will be
some different feelings.

Second, Gaussian blur improves the overall atmosphere
After camera raw coloring, Gaussian blur, radius 50, and then
filter color, there will be magical effect.
This kind of operation will make the picture shine and with a
hint of dreams. It is often used in the late stage of my studio, and I also
tried it at the beginning.
But this will make the picture too bright, so adjust the
opacity according to the picture, the value is just as good as you want.
Third, the curve and hue adjustment
The RGB curve pulls a small s type, the picture will be more
layered, just a slight change
Only the yellow color has been changed in the hue. Because the
curve is changed, the color of the picture will be darker. Changing the yellow
hue and saturation makes the character color more natural.
Finally, use dr3 to sharpen it.

Don't just look at you, you need students to do the specific
operations. Many times we can't just watch it. We must make it by hand. The
portraits of the ancient style need to be fully prepared before and after, so
